After an incident during an attack on Eggmans base had nearly cost Tails his life, Sonic decides to retire his young sidekick. Tails, seeing this as a betrayal, now seeks to prove to Sonic that he is capable enough to be a hero in his own right and even surpass Sonic himself, shattering their long-built relationship in the process.
