1. Chapter 1 (1/1)
san diego, january 2009 lucas shivered as the cold water ran around his leather bound feet, despite the warm conditions surrounding him. he was alone and it was midnight; waiting for andrew to meet him at the beach. lucas was wearing his shadowhunter gear, all black to blend in to the night. he wore shin high boots which held two for is seraph blades, while leather trousers were tucked in to them. he was wearing white, long sleeved shirt, but was then finished it off with a leather jacket down to his thighs.it wasn't long before he felt someone speaking in his ear."hello, shadowhunter," the voice said."vampire," lucas replied quietly. his arms swung over his head and latched on to the vampire's neck, causing the downworlder to gasp. lucas pulled the creature around and kneed him in the chest. while the vampire was trying to register what was going on, lucas pulled out a seraph blade from his right boot. he lunged for the vampire and the blade sunk in to its neck; blood spraying on to lucas' clothes. the downworlder staggered back and fell in to the water, his body succumbing to the salt water. lucas jumped over the body so he was near the vampire's head. he placed his right foot on the vampire's forehead and held its head down. the vampire struggled, constantly splashing its arms up and trying to reach for lucas' leg, but lucas just pushed down harder.eventually, the creature stopped."not a very conventional way of dealing with a vampire," a voice said from the beach. lucas looked up to see andrew walking down the dark beach, hands in his jacket pockets. he was wearing a small smirk like he was proud of lucas."had to get it done," lucas answered, wading through the water so he was back on the beach. andrew met lucas halfway and wiped three spots of blood from lucas' cheek."you could have got it done without causing such a mess," andrew laughed, "and waiting for me to get here!""oh, sorry for not asking the vampire to wait and have a drink before you got here!" lucas shoted yet with a hint of laughter. andrew laughed as well as he wrapped his arms around lucas' neck and pressed his lips against lucas's neck."not here," lucas pleaded, rubbing his hands up and down andrew's back.
it wasn't long before the boys were back at andrew's studio apartment. lucas immediately found the soft sofa and took his shirt off. andrew stood in the doorway and stared dreamily at lucas' sweaty six pack. he leapt on top of him, both legs over each side of lucas' throbbing body. lucas reached his hands behind andrew's head and pulled his head down so his dry lips were on his, the passion seeping in to both men's mouths.the apartment building shook."what the hell was that?" lucas asked, turning his head so andrew could roll his tongue down lucas' neck."probably just an earthquake," andrew mumbled. a
ight light seeped through all the windows in the apartment and surrounded the building. andrew jumped off of lucas and ran to the large glass window."lucas, look at this," andrew said, grabbing lucas' hand and pulling him to his position. in the distance, not too far from where they were, an office building was collapsing as fire erupted around the building."what the hell is that?" lucas asked, but andrew was already re-lacing his shoes."come on," andrew was already through the front door and shouting to lucas, "something tells me there's a demon in san diego!"
