3. Were Going Down Part 1 (1/2)

chapter 1... like i promised.

there are a few things to note before you start.

1. once again, this is an alternate ending to annihilation earth, the season 3 finale.

2. i like to keep my stories and writing style a bit... realistic. it's just how i work.

3. for the timelines, this takes place at the ending of the mentioned tmnt episode, and a few weeks right before sonic unleashed.

4. the current cover is only temporary so just bare with me. you won't have to imagine what the turtles look like based on their descriptions. i couldn't exactly draw due to an injury.

and 5. enjoy.

disclaimer: the turtles, sonic, and any character from both franchises do not belong to me in any way. no matter how badly i want that to happen.

chapter 1: we're going down part 1

sunday- september 27th, 2015

location: in outer space, on board the ulixes

casey arnold jones was a lot of things.

he was

ash.

reckless.

hot tempered.

and at times, destructive.

but he was also observant.

considerate.

practical.

and smart when he wanted to be.

but unfortunately for his comrades, there were times when he could be dense. oso terribly dense.

"this. is. awesome!"

so, when that sudden thought of his flew out his mouth in the form of a loud excited shout, he really didn't take into consideration about the impact these words would leave on his teammates.

five sets of different colored eyes sparked with righteous fury as they all landed directly on the hockey-loving teenager. said teenager faltered, his high and

ight attitude lessening some from the piercing glares. if looks could kill, he'd be sinking in his own grave right about now.

silence blanketed the room after his words penetrated the ears of the remaining occupants on the ship.

however, it gave way when the sound of thunderous stomping produced from heavy green feet. casey looked up and with a twinge of nervousness, watched as raphael stormed towards him, a scowl which promised pain marring his reptilian face.

the red banded turtle came to an a

upt halt in front of the hockey lover and just stared him down, his harsh neon eyes showing not a shred of mercy. the unbearable silence from before reigned once more as raph stood there and studied casey in an intensively judgmental way. feeling uncomfortable from the unnerving silence of his best friend and not to mention from the heated glares he was currently receiving from everyone sans the giant white robot dude, casey couldn't help but squirm. he screwed up. he knew he did.

"raph, i didn't mea-"

"awesome?" came the venomous hiss.

an ugly scowl had dominated raphael's face. his furious green eyes watched casey like a hawk while his deep scowl wrinkled into a nasty snarl. the hockey boy winced.

"ya think losing our home to a bunch of demented dinosaurs is awesome?!" the turtle exploded, and surging forward, he yanked casey by the collar of his hoodie, lifting him up off the ground. the familiar blank white color that followed in ninja mode crept into his eyes, making his irises and pupils fade away.

raph

ought casey to his face and snarled, "how the hell is that awesome?! we just lost our home! our freakin' planet, our birthplace for god's sake! countless lives just up and went poof in a freakin' black hole! all of their molecules stretched apart beyond recognition and they're probably choking to death in outer space while we speak!" he boomed, unaware of the fact that he nearly sounded like donnie in his explanation.

"what about our families, huh?!" he pointed out, "how about your family?! your pops and your little sister, angel! you think it's fair they're dead?! never to be seen again! do you even care, ya little punk!?"

casey felt his eyes widen, growing larger by the second. his

eathing began to quicken.

his family... and raph just... he did not just go there...

unadulterated anger. complete and utter raw anger. it wormed it's way inside of the boy, seeping into his chest and then spreading throughout the rest of his body like a wild forest fire. and like a wild forest fire, it would rage on until it burned itself out.

with eyes widened in fury, casey faced raph and matched the turtle's dangerous gaze.

"of course i care, idiot!" he roared, wrenching himself out of the turtle's grip and landing roughly on his feet, "this is my fucking family we're talking about here! my awesome dad and my little dark angel! why on earth wouldn't i care!"

everyone with the exception of leonardo instinctively took a couple of steps back. the blue banded turtle had been watching the entire exchange with a critical eye, noting the body language and the increasing aggression from both temperamental teens. he hadn't stepped in because he knew both had to get their problems off of their chests. the sooner they did, then they lowered the risks of them bottling their trauma up and unintentionally lashing out at anyone. still... he would step in if things got physical.

having calmed down some and his eyes returning to normal, raph couldn't help but bark out a short bitter laugh.

"why on earth," he repeated when he finished, a small hint of venom tracing his tone, "why am i not surprised, jones? could you sound anymore spiteful?"

"you're one to talk, ya heartless jerk!" casey fired back, gritting his teeth, "taking jabs at someone's family crosses the line!"

at this, raph

istled, "heartless? i'm not the one who screamed 'awesome' after the entire planet just crumbled to pieces and disappeared in a black hole! that is crossing the line!"

the hockey lover narrowed his eyes, his anger fading some but not completely. surprisingly, he didn't react in anger by charging forward to hit raph with his hockey stick like he had done on several occasions. no, instead, he loosened his grip on his piece of sports equipment and gave his best friend a scowl similar to the one the turtle displayed earlier.

"it's not like that, raph," he spat, "the thought of being in outer space... on a space ship was awesome... at first. it was dope, but... not any more..." his shoulders slumped at the reality that just now seemed to slap him in the face. flashes of his little sister's rebellious chestnut eyes and famous troublemaker smile, along with his dad's stern but caring face and affectionate ways made casey freeze. and to think they were out there... somewhere... gone...

the explosive rage left raph as soon as he noticed the
