1. Chapter 1 (1/1)
i miss my family. every one of them: my little
other jeremy, the twins elizabeth and eleanor my mother and father but most of all i missed my husband. he was the only one that knew my secret, the secret that died with him all those years ago. of course i had to tell somebody, you can't imagine what it's like being born with something so terrible and tragic. having to watch everyone around you that you love die is the worst curse of them all.
i was born 1526, the year of king henry viii. i was born in to a very rich household and when i became 19 i was married to the earl of derbyshire who was very kind to me. i was the lady of the house and i loved it. when i became 30 i realised i hadn't aged since i was 25. my husband noticed this and said, "youth is with you my love. i will be able to look upon you until the day i die and you will still be beautiful." he obviously knew because after 40 years of marriage and without an heir, he laid on his bed and sent for me. "you are a jewel. my life has been a good one and you will live a thousand years. but promise me that you will take care of my house and servants when this hour is done."
"you have my word. sleep now for the night is creeping upon us." i kissed him on his forehead and his eyes closed softly. i kept my word and stayed the lady of the house. the servants became more like a family for they never spoke of how i hadn't aged.
after 487 years i still had not died and fully understood the changes in life. i had made sure my husband's house was kept in my keeping but still kept the tudor furnishings. the years had come and gone and i had seen wars, kings and queens. but i never thought i would meet james. he was tall, had dark hair and worked in a small coffee shop in the 80's. it was raining that day and i saw him walking with a newspaper over his head. i offered him my um
ella and he thanked me kindly. after the 5th date he asked me a question. "you must tell me something and be completely honest. do you believe the legends of time walkers?" i had looked this legend up before and found that this was the closest theory that explained my 'condition'.
"i believe it's true why?" he took hold of my hands and looked me in the eyes. for the first time i noticed how old and wise he looked even though he was 30.
"for i have been 34 since 1708. i'm telling you this because i love you." i smiled at him. "that's the best news i've had since henry viii died." he smiled too.
we spent eternity together.
